The newly published Fifth Edition of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment is the new standard. Learn the many changes in the Fifth, and how to perform and review impairment evaluations. Distinguished Faculty

Christopher R. Brigham, MD, MMS, FACOEM, FAADEP, CIME is President of Brigham and Associates, Inc. of Portland, Maine (www.brighamassociates.com) , and previously was Vice-President of SEAK, Inc.  He is an internationally recognized expert in impairment and disability assessment, the field of independent medical evaluations, workers' compensation and disability management, and occupational medicine. Dr. Brigham is regarded as one of the world's leading experts on the use of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (www.impairment.com) and the performance of independent medical evaluations.  He serves as the Editor of the AMA Guides Newsletter and served on the Senior Advisory Committee to the Fifth Edition of the AMA Guides and as a reviewer. He has performed and reviewed several thousand impairment evaluations, and is considered as the leading expert in reviewing ratings. He has consulted to numerous organizations, including workers compensation jurisdictions,  insurers, attorneys, and other organizations. Dr. Brigham is the Founding Director of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. Chris is a highly regarded professional speaker, trainer and author of several texts including the AMA companion text to the Guides, the Guides Casebook. He is the Director of the Division of Occupational Medicine at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine and is on the faculty at the University of Vermont.
