This hands on workshop shows physicians how to find a satisfying non-clinical second career utilizing their most fulfilling professional and personal experiences. Non-Clinical Careers for Physicians will allow participating physicians to answer the following three questions in very specific detail:

1. What are my professional and personal priorities?
2. What career opportunities exist that fit who I am?
3. How do I find and land the right non-clinical position for me?

Attendees will have the opportunity to present their career goals to the faculty. Each attendee will be asked to maintain the confidentiality of everything that is discussed during the workshop. Attendees will receive special individual assessment materials and the means to interpret the career implications of these assessments; suggestions and recommendations on how to deal with their specific career goals, a practical understanding of the current Darwinian job market; and efficient methods to circumvent the most common obstacles to professional fulfillment. 2:00-3:00

Action Plans/Next Steps

The faculty and participants will review what was learned over the past two days and each attendee will discover specific plans, present their own "next steps" action plans and their "theory of victory" for their proposed career transition.  How to continue this career-change process, using workshop study partners, recruiters, and other channels is a key objective of this workshop session.
