How to Register
Simply print the fax registration form, complete it, then fax it to SEAK at (508) 540 8304 or mail it to SEAK at PO Box 729, Falmouth, MA  02541 with a check or credit card number enclosed.

Hotel Rates/Reservations

SEAK, Inc. has reserved a limited number of rooms at special rates ($135.00) at the Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort, the site hotel. Reservations are made by attendees directly with the site hotel by calling 1-800-225-3110 and asking for the SEAK Medical Fiction group rate. Seacrest Oceanfront Resort

Programs will take place at the Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort which is located on Falmouth's Old Silver Beach, one of Cape Cod's most beautiful stretches of beach. Falmouth features quaint rose-clad cottages of an earlier day, a beautiful harbor, direct ferry service to Martha's Vineyard (five miles away), several public golf courses, the world-famous Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and many fine dining establishments. The Sea Crest features many amenities to occupy leisure time. These include:
* 700 feet of private, white sand beach * Heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, atrium for sun and relaxation * Two-level fitness center, saunas, steamroom * Poolside recreational area with shuffleboard, basketball, badminton, volleyball, putting green * Bicycle and watercraft rentals * Outdoor tennis courts, pool, deck, and cabana bar for lounging or cocktails * Shuttle van service to three 18-hole golf courses, nearby sightseeing attractions, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

Getting to Falmouth, Cape Cod, MA

The two major airports closest to Cape Cod are Logan International Airport in Boston, MA (70 miles) and T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island (65 miles). Barnstable Airport is 22 miles from the Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort, but this is a commuter airport that has smaller planes and fewer flights. T.F. Green is preferred over Logan as it is usually less congested. Rental cars, taxis and car service are available at all three airports.

Questions and Answers

Questions are encouraged.  There will be ample time set aside for questions and answers.

 

Submissions

Query Letter Review, Query Letter Distribution, Writing Exercise Feedback, Writing Sample Review, Fiction Writing Competition. You will be sent 4-6 short writing exercises when you register along with instructions on how to submit these for feedback from a faculty member. You will be provided with instructions on how to submit your query letter for critique and distribution to agents and how to submit up to three chapters of your manuscript for review by a faculty member. You will be provided with instructions on how to enter the National Fiction Writing Competition for Physicians. There is no fee for any of the above "extras."

 

Tuition/Meals/Discounts

Tuition/Discounts: Tuition for each 1-day preconferences is $395 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, breaks, and a seminar handbook. Tuition for the 6th Annual Medical Fiction Writing Workshop is $995.00 and includes:

• The Friday night reception with Michael and Tess (spouses invited),
• Continental breakfast and lunch with faculty on Saturday and Sunday,
• Seminar handbook,
• All sessions,
• Saturday night private "book party" reception with entertainment (spouses invited),
• Small group breakout sessions with agents on Sunday morning,
• Faculty reading, review and critique of up to three chapters of your manuscript (if you register prior to September 15, 2005),
• Book signing session on Saturday evening (spouses invited),
• Faculty review and written critique of your query letter (if you register prior to September 15, 2005),
• Distribution of your query letter to numerous literary agents (if desired),
• Faculty review and written critique of concise writing exercises (if you register prior to September 15, 2005), and
• Information on how to enter the 6th Annual National Fiction Writing Competition for Physicians (There is no charge to enter the Competition).
 

 

Cancellations

All cancellations received in writing prior to October 1, 2005 will receive a full refund.
